Community Corporate High School Leadership Hosting A Drive Post-Drive Survey

Hosting A Drive
Choose a date, time and site
As Company Captain of the blood drive, you must choose a date, time and place that will accommodate the largest number of donors. Bear in mind that our bloodmobile requires a level 12' x 50' parking space. Indoor space for a portable set-up (if warranted) should be near an easily accessible entrance and should be near bathrooms and a telephone.

Set a goal
The goal your company sets becomes part of the average daily supply we rely on to meet community needs. Your Florida Blood Services (FBS) Territory Manager can help you set a realistic goal and attain it.

Establish a committee
If there are more than 50 people in your company you might want to recruit additional employees to help you introduce and promote the drive.

Recruit donors
Your blood center Territory Manager will provide posters, flyers and other recruitment tools and can make educational/motivational presentations. But the fact is, nothing succeeds like human contact. Ideally, you (or a committee member) should talk to every person in your company. One of the most common reasons people don't donate blood is that nobody asked them.

Schedule donors
FBS has provided detailed information on scheduling both the drive and donors. Click here for more scheduling info.

Stay involved
On the day of the blood drive, provide the FBS supervisor of the blood center collection staff a copy of the donor schedule and communicate with the collection staff throughout the drive.

Evaluate the drive
Ask for donor's comments. Review the results with your FBS Territory Manager to help improve future drives. Remember to send a blood drive comment sheet to the blood center's donor recruitment department. Click here for more follow-up info.

Recognize donors
FBS has suggested some ways to say "thank you" on the "Follow-Up" page, and we're sure you can think of others.
